Quinto Domingo de Cuaresma / Fifth Sunday of Lent

La pequeña semilla que yace enterrada en la tierra no es el final de la historia sino el comienzo. Jesus va a morir y nacerá la Iglesia universal. Su muert e cambiará el rumbo del mundo; El vencerá ahí donde se juega el destino de la humanidad.

En palabras de san At anasio, sólo podemos ver a Jesús a través de la muerte mediante la Cruz con la cual Él trae muchos frutos para todos los siglos. “Su muerte trae los dones de la f e y de la salvación para la humanidad ” (cf. Jn 12,25- 26). Mahatma Gandhi refleja la misma idea diciendo que “el mejor camino para encontrarse con uno mismo es perderse en el servici o a los demás.”

Para Reflexión Personal: ¿Quien ha plantado semillas de esperanza en mi vida? ¿Me he dado cuenta de que mi propia muerte me ha llevado a la vida? ¿Cómo mi estilo de vida refleja mi compromiso con Jesus en la cruz? ¿Cómo llevo a otros a El?

The little seed lying buried in the ground is not the end of the story but the beginning. Jesus is going to die and the universal Church will be born. Jesus's death will change the world's course; He will win there where the destiny of humanity is at stake.

In the words of St. Athanasius, we can see Jesus only through death since “it is only through death, through the Cross that Christ bears much fruit for all the centuries. ”To “see Jesus means recognizing that His undeserved death on the Cross has conferred the grace of faith and salvation to the whole human race” (cf. Jn 12,25-26). Mahatma Gandhi reflects the same, saying “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

For Personal Reflection: Who has planted seeds of hope in my life? When have I found that my own death has led to life? How does my lifestyle reflect my commitment to Jesus on the cross? How do I draw others to Him?
