Feast of the Epiphany / Fiesta de la Epifanía

“Happy Feast of the Epiphany to you and your family! This feast is also known as the Feast of the Three Kings. The Gospel recounts how the Three Wise Men traveled so far in search of the Savior, guided by a star. They sought Jesus, the King of kings, until they found him in a manger. But there is also another king in the Gospel who was worried and distressed simply because he didn't want anyone to occupy his throne—King Herod. He questioned the three kings and pretended that he wanted to worship Jesus when they found him. His mistake was not seeking Jesus personally, but asking the three kings to find him. Our faith in God is PERSONAL. We don't go to heaven because our parents or the people around us are holy and worthy of heaven, but because we ourselves are holy and worthy of heaven. In the end, what matters is our personal relationship with God. When we stand before God, I believe He won't ask us if our parents treated us well, but whether we treated our parents well. Holiness is also personal. What we believe and how we act according to our beliefs is an important manifestation of faith in God. Just as Jesus manifested his love, let us manifest our love for God in words and deeds. Amen!”

“¡Feliz fiesta de la Epifanía para ti y tu familia! Esta fiesta también se conoce como la de los Reyes Magos. El Evangelio relata cómo los Reyes Magos viajaron tan lejos en busca del Salvador, guiados por una estrella. Buscaban a Jesús el Rey de reyes, hasta que lo encontraron en un pesebre. Pero también hay otro rey en el evangelio que estaba preocupado y angustiado simplemente porque no quería que nadie ocupara su trono, el rey Herodes. Preguntó a los tres reyes y fingió adorarlo cuando lo encontraron. Su error fue no buscar a Jesús personalmente, sino pedir a los tres reyes que lo buscaran. Nuestra fe en Dios es PERSONAL. No vamos al cielo porque nuestros padres o las personas que nos rodean sean santas y dignas del cielo, sino porque nosotros somos santos y dignos del cielo. Al final, lo que importa es nuestra relación personal con Dios. Cuando nos presentamos ante Dios, creo que Él no nos preguntará si nuestros padres nos trataron bien, sino si nosotros tratamos bien a nuestros padres. La santidad también es personal. Lo que creemos y cómo actuamos según lo que creemos es una manifestación importante de la fe en Dios. Así como Jesús manifestó su amor, manifestemos nuestro amor a Dios con palabras y hechos. ¡Amén!”
