Christ the King / Domingo de Cristo Rey
A Blessed Christ the King Sunday to all! The solemnity of Christ the King is also celebrated by the different Christian denominations like Protestants, Anglicans, Orthodox, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc. all in one purpose, to proclaim that Christ the King. In 1970 its feast was moved from October to the last Sunday in Ordinary Time. Pope Pius XI in his encyclical QUAS PRIMAS declared on Dec. 11, 2925 the feast in response to the growing secularism and materialism. HOW and WHY we celebrate Christ the King truly matters. In this world of materialism and secularism, its truly hard to make Christ the King of every nation, home and of every heart. Its truly hard to make Jesis the King and when are hearts filled with worldly lures and cares. But nothing is impossible with God, by his grace we can make Christ our personal king and savior. Let us be aware of god’s presence working in our lives. Jesus said, “Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” God is at work in us if we let him in. god will never bring us to where his race will not protect us. Let us always make Christ the King in our homes and hearts. Long live Christ the King! Viva el Cristo Rey. Amen!
¡Feliz Domingo de Cristo Rey a todos! La solemnidad de Cristo Rey también es celebrada por las diferentes confesiones cristianas, como los protestantes, anglicanos, ortodoxos, metodistas, presbiterianos, etc., todas con un mismo propósito: proclamar a Cristo Rey. En 1970, su fiesta se trasladó de octubre al último domingo del tiempo ordinario. El papa Pío XI, en su encíclica QUAS PRIMAS, declaró el 11 de diciembre de 1925 la fiesta en respuesta al creciente secularismo y materialismo. CÓMO y POR QUÉ celebramos a Cristo Rey es realmente importante. En este mundo de materialismo y secularismo, es realmente difícil hacer de Cristo el Rey de cada nación, de cada hogar y de cada corazón. Es realmente difícil hacer de Jesús el Rey cuando nuestros corazones están llenos de tentaciones y preocupaciones mundanas. Pero nada es imposible para Dios, por su gracia podemos hacer de Cristo nuestro rey y salvador personal. Seamos conscientes de la presencia de Dios obrando en nuestras vidas. Jesús dijo: “Todo el que es de la verdad escucha mi voz”. Dios obra en nosotros si le dejamos entrar. Dios nunca nos llevará a donde su gracia no nos proteja. Hagamos siempre a Cristo Rey en nuestros hogares y corazones. ¡Viva Cristo Rey! ¡Viva el Cristo Rey! ¡Amén!
